What Causes Blocked Drains?

We use electric drain machines (aka Electric Eels) which have a flexible steel rod with a cutter at the end to effectively remove most obstacles blocking the drain. However, for more stubborn blockages, we use high powered hydro-jet machines that can remove even the toughest culprits.
